Highlights of our July/August 2010 Tour


Salzburg

Our exploration of the birthplace of Mozart also features the “Sound of Music Tour” which includes sites associated with the film as well as historical and architectural landmarks like the Mirabell Gardens where we’ll pause at the top of the steps where Julie Andrews and her 7 charges demonstrated their singing abilities.


Munich

Our discovery of this historic town will feature a tour of Olympia Park built for the 20th Olympic Games, a Bike Tour featuring exploration of the many sites available only to cyclists and explore the ever popular BMW Museum with their hands-on exhibits that thrill both students and adults alike.


Dachau

Prior to our tour of the site we will have the opportunity to listen to a holocaust survivor and/or a member of their family recount the stories of survival from what became the first German concentration camp.


General Tour features

Come and join us for a custom-designed tour featuring the breathtaking beauty of the Bavarian Alps, an area steeped in history and brimming with Tyrollean charm. Students should thrill at the opportunity to follow the Olympians with a Luge Ride, one of the great Alpine experiences. Marvel at the splendor of the Dachstein Ice Caves then warm up  with a walking tour through Salzburg’s Old City a maze of meandering lanes, curious steeples and cobbled streets. Discover how the Klotz family has crafted custom hand-made violins for generations as we view their workshop. Mozart’s birthplace and music await us as well as the works of Botticelli, Durer, Rembrandt, and Rubens at Munich’s world-famous Alte Pinakothek Art Museum  before we explore Munich’s BMW Museum  which always proves popular with both students and adults featuring their popular hands-on exhibits.
